In this study, we developed a selective crystal synthesis method using weathered biotite (WB) and molten salt treatment as a new creation method for ceramic humidity sensor materials. In this study, we compare the molten salt treatment with mixed salt and single salt, and report on the conditions under which Wadalite crystals are synthesized with high purity.

Oral presentation

Development of a selective synthesis process of Wadalite for humidity sensors using molten salt treatment

Honda, Mitsunori; Hayakawa, Kosetsu*; Muraguchi, Masakazu*; Masebo, Yumeno*; Oda, Masato*; Iino, Chiaki*; Ishii, Hiroyuki*

no journal, ,

In this study, we have developed a new method for the selective synthesis of Wadalite from weathered biotite (WB) using the molten salt treatment as a new method for the fabrication of ceramic humidity sensor materials. Wadalite, the matrix of humidity sensor materials, was found to be efficiently and selectively synthesized by adsorbing Cs between layers on WB.
