The high-energy muons produced in the atmosphere by high-energy GCRs can penetrate deep underground and generate radioisotopes in the rock. As long lived radionuclides such as Be and
Al have been accumulating in these rocks, concentrations of
Be and
Al can be used to estimate the long-term variations in high-energy muon yields, corresponding to those in the high-energy GCRs over a few million years. This study measured the production cross sections for muon induced
Be and
Al by irradiating positive muons with the momentum of 160 GeV/c on the synthetic silica plates and the granite core at the COMPASS experiment line in CERN SPS. In addition, it the contributions of the direct muon spallation reaction and the nuclear reactions by muon-induced particles on the production of long lived radionuclides in the rocks were clarified.

In order to translate nuclear disaster prevention documents written in Japanese into English, the Basic Act on Disaster Management, the Act on Special Measures Concerning Nuclear Emergency Preparedness, and the Convention on Nuclear Safety were surveyed for corresponding terms in Japanese and English. The survey results were integrated and unified English translations were selected. As a result, a Japanese-English correspondence table of technical terms in the field of nuclear disaster prevention was prepared and proposed.

Pt to the ground state of the daughter nucleus
Os has been determined more precisely than before. The
Pt was produced as the
-decay granddaughter of
Hg which was produced and separated with the CERN-ISOLDE facility. The reduced
-decay width calculated with the present result has provided a new picture of the systematics for the
-decay width of neutron-deficient Pt isotopes.

Material damage index of displacement per atom (dpa) is calculated by the particle flux and the displacement cross section. Since the experimental data of the displacement cross section was scarce, the measurements using protons were conducted, and the experimental data of protons up to 30 GeV have been obtained in J-PARC. The displacement cross section was almost constant regardless of the projectile proton energy above several GeV, which is against the expectation because the heat deposition given by the proton increases as projectile energy due to the relativistic theory. The experiment with 120 GeV protons at FNAL was conducted to obtain the data for high-energy regions. To extend the energy region, the experiment with 430-GeV protons at HiRadMat is planned for the following year. Additionally, a new beam irradiation facility plan at J-PARC with 0.4-GeV protons to study material radiation damage will be presented in this talk.
