Recently, neutron scattering experiments have been rapidly progressed under high magnetic field. In the J-PARC, proto-type compact pulse magnet system with the power supply, the coil and the sample stick has been developed. Basic specifications of the power supply are as follows; maximum charged voltage with capacitor is 2 kV, maximum current is 8 kA, repetition rate is a pulse per several minutes and pulse duration is several msec. Maximum magnetic field in the coil is more than 30 Tesla. The sample stick is designed for Orange-Cryostat. In this presentation, We report the details of the pulsed magnet system and the performance of it on neutron scattering experiments at MLF beam line (HRC).

Recently, neutron and radiation beam scattering experiments have been rapidly progressed under high magnetic field more than a few tens Tesla. In the J-PARC MLF, proto-type compact pulse magnet system has been developed for the user's request. The pulsed magnet system consist of (1) a capacitor bank power supply, (2) a small solenoid coil and (3) a cryostat-insert. The capacitor bank power supply is movable using casters in order to be used for each beam-line. Superconducting DC magnet up to 17 T has already developed for neutron scattering experiments, so we made the coil which generate higher magnetic fields up to 30 T. We developed a cryostat-insert for Orange-cryostat which has often been used in neutron experiments. In this presentation, we report measurement results of characteristics of the pulsed magnet system in high resolution chopper spectrometer (HRC).

Recently, neutron scattering experiments have been rapidly progressed under high magnetic field. In the J-PARC, proto-type compact pulse magnet system with high magnetic field has been developed. Magnetic field in the coil is more than 20 Tesla and pulse width is more than a few mili second in the system. Basic specifications of this system are as follows. Maximum charged voltage with capacitor is 2 kV. Maximum current in the coil is 7 kA. Repetition rate is a pulse per severa minuets. Pulse duration is several msec. In this presentation, the details of the power supply system, sample stick are shown.
