In order to construct ADS Target Test facility in J-PARC project the research and development on Pb-Bi technology have been carried, which cover target design with computer simulation, flowing loop test, stagnant corrosion test, oxygen sensor and cleaning techniques. Obtained results are as follows: Corrosion rate of SUS316 under flowing Pb-Bi at 1m/s at 450C is 0.1 mm / 3000 hrs. Fe and Cr were melted into lead bismuth from SS316 in the high temperature part and deposited in the low-temperature part according to the difference of solubility. The corrosion thickness decreases with increasing Cr content in the stagnant corrosion test at saturated oxygen concentration. Reliable oxygen sensors are to be developed by using suitable reference electrodes. As a result of cleaning tests, blushing process was needed to remove Pb-Bi effectively after immersion in the silicon oil. The mixed acid easily dissolved Pb-Bi and removed almost perfectly. But specimens themselves were affected by coloring.

The tritium deposition image obtained by TIPT was consistent with the distribution measured by combustion method. The highest tritium concentration was 60 kBq/cm at the dome top tile. However, deposition layer was not obviously observed on the dome top tile. The tritium concentration in the inner divertor target tile was lower (2 kBq/cm
) even with the thick deposition layer of
60
m. This tritium distribution can be explained by energetic triton particle loss due to ripple loss. According to the simulation using the OFMC code, 31% of the triton particles produced by D-D nuclear reaction is implanted deeply to the wall without fully losing the initial energy of 1 MeV.

We study the ground-state lattice fluctuation where the system shows a characteristic structure factor. We also study the mass dependence of magnetic properties such as the magnetic susceptibility and the magnetic excitation spectrum. For heavy mass, the system shows the same behavior as the case of classical lattice vibration. On the other hand, for light mass, magnetic properties coincide with those of the static uniform chain. We investigate the physical mechanism of this behavior and propose the picture of quantum narrowing.
