Spiral spin cluster in the hyperkagome antiferromagnet Mn$$_{3}$$RhSi

We show that the local spin correlation order has a spiral structure by neutron scattering measurement of a Mn$$_{3}$$RhSi single crystal. The possible origins of the magnetic cluster formation are discussed in terms of the Lifshitz invariant and the Griffiths phase, and compared with the room-temperature skyrmion phase of Co$$_{7}$$Zn$$_{7}$$Mn$$_{6}$$ and non-Fermi liquid behavior of $$beta$$-Mn.

The thermal neutron capture cross section of $$^{71}$$Ga was evaluated to be around 4.7 b in many nuclear data libraries. On the other hand, it was evaluated to be 3.71 b in JENDL-4.0. Since these cross section data were obtained by the activation measurement with a monitor foil to determine the absolute value of cross section, data depend on the monitor foil adopted in the measurement. In this work, we measured the thermal neutron capture cross section of $$^{71}$$Ga with a few monitor foils. In the experiment, neutrons decelerated in concrete shield were irradiated with a sample with $$^{71}$$Ga foil and $$^{197}$$Au and $$^{55}$$Mn monitor foils. A covariance analysis was performed to obtain the off-diagonal weighted mean of the results determined with the two monitor reactions. As a result, the thermal neutron capture cross section of $$^{71}$$Ga was 4.05$$pm$$0.27 b and is close to the value of JENDL-4.0.

Interest in advanced wearable technologies increasingly extends beyond systems for biophysical measurements to those that enable continuous, non-invasive monitoring of biochemical markers in biofluids. Here, we introduce battery-free, wireless microelectronic platforms that perform sensing via schemes inspired by the operation of biofuel cells. Combining these systems in a magnetically releasable manner with chrono-sampling microfluidic networks that incorporate assays based on colorimetric sensing yields thin, flexible, lightweight, skin-interfaced technologies with broad functionality in sweat analysis. A demonstration device allows simultaneous monitoring of sweat rate/loss, along with quantitative measurements of pH and of lactate, glucose and chloride concentrations using biofuel cell and colorimetric approaches.
