Predictions of the impact on six CTBT radionuclide stations in the Southern Hemisphere of radioxenon emitted from the medical isotope production facility in Australia were carried out by participants from ten nations using ATM (Atmospheric Transport Modeling) based on the emission data of radioxenon from this facility, as part of study on impact of radioxenon emitted from medical isotope production facilities on CTBT radionuclide stations.

Short decay chains of recoil--()-fission type, fourteen of which were observed, and some of which were interpreted as the 2-neutron evaporation products Mc, have been reassigned. It is plausible that most of them were assigned to the 3-neutron evaporation products Mc whose decay chain would on the way have branches of EC decays followed by fission.

Results of the digital signal analysis for preamplifier signals and of the event-by-event -energy loss correction analysis were presented. The detectors consist of five double-sided Si strip detectors (DSSSD) arranged as a box, and signals from one side of the detector at the bottom of the box were digitally processed. Energy losses of particles detected by two Si detectors at the bottom and a side differs event-by-event, because each particle passed through two dead layers with a certain tilted angle. By correcting for the energy loss of each event using the angle of the -particle emission extracted from the detected positions, we succeeded in improving the energy resolution significantly.

Observed decay chains are consistent with a previously reported decay chain, which confirms the identification of the element 115. In addition, an -photon coincidence measurement was performed, and rays as well as X-ray candidates were observed in this decay chain. The -ray observation in the heaviest region of superheavy nuclei brings a big progress in the superheavy nuclear structure studies.

For the FI, we use either YIG, nickel ferrite, or magnetite and for the nonmagnet, Cu or Au. The SMR is theoretically ascribed to the combined action of spin Hall and inverse spin Hall effect in the Pt top layer. It therefore should characteristically depend upon the orientation of the magnetization in the adjacent ferromagnet and prevail even if an additional, nonmagnetic metal layer is inserted between Pt and the ferromagnet. Our experimental data corroborate these theoretical conjectures. Using the SMR theory to analyze our data, we extract the spin Hall angle and the spin diffusion length in Pt. For a spin-mixing conductance of m, we obtain a spin Hall angle of 0.11 0.08 and a spin diffusion length of (1.5 0.5) nm for Pt in our samples.

A possible origin of this discrepancy lies in differences between the initial spin/parity population distribution. To investigate this, the angular momentum transfer of the surrogate reaction in Gd nuclei has been measured.

Wideband low-output-impedance RF system for the second harmonic cavity in the ISIS synchrotron has been developed by the collaboration between ANL (US), KEK (Japan) and RAL (UK). Low output impedance is realized by the feedback from plate to grid of the final triode amplifier, resulting in less than 30 ohms over a wide frequency range of 2.7 - 6.2 MHz. The vacuum tubes in the driver and final stages are both operated in class A. High power test was performed with a ferrite-loaded second harmonic cavity, where the bias current was swept at 50 Hz repetition rate. The maximum voltage of 12 kV peak per accelerating gap was obtained stably at earlier period of an acceleration cycle. A beam test with this system is planned at the ISIS synchrotron soon.
