In view of the future plan of Research Reactor Institute, Kyoto University, the present study consisted of (1) the transmission experiments of high energy neutrons through materials, (2) experimental simulation of ADSR using the Kyoto University Critical Assembly(KUCA), and (3) conceptual neutronics design study on KUR type ADSR using the MCNP-X code. Through the present study, valuable knowledge on the basic nuclear characteristics of ADSR, which is indispensable to promote the study on ADSR, was obtained both theoretically and experimentally. For the realization of ADSR, it is considered to be necessary to accumulate results of research steadily. For this purpose, it is inevitable (1) to compile the more precise nuclear data for the wide energy range, (2) to establish experimental techniques for reactor physics study on ADSR including subcriticality measurement and absolute neutron flux measurement, and (3) to develop neutronics calculation tools which take into account the neutron generation process by the spallation reaction and the delayed neutron behavior.

To establish sealing technique suitable for geological environmental conditions of Japan, it is necessary to obtain data related with this sealing function through laboratory tests and in-situ tests. It also is necessary to put these data to practical use and to establish the estimating method of the sealing technique. Tunnnel sealing experiment, which has been carried out as a joint research between JNC and AECL at URL of AECL Canada, is arriving the final stage and fundamental data relating with the sealing function has almost obtained. This report deals with the total data processing and interpretation of the sealing test, as well as the numerical analysis and interpretation on tracer test results. Concrete plans for the disassembling and sampling of clay and concrete plugs, which is important for the evaluation of function of the sealing system, is also discussed.

When a low power meter for a reactor is calibrated by using the Feynman-$$alpha$$ methode, the absolute power is obtained by the product of the power deduced from the one-point reactor formula and the ${it g}$-factor which was introduced as the spatila correction factor on the Rossi-$$alpha$$ measurement. In this paper, for the purpose of ezperimental usage, formulae of the ${it g}$-factor for the different geometries are derived by one speed approximation and its characteristics are systematically surveyed. A simple formula of the ${it g}$-factor for a spherical core is presented and applied. This formula can estimate the value of the ${it g}$-factor with appropriate accuracy.
