Moreover, the estimated average distance between the particle and residue equals approximately 4.5 fm. This result poses a challenge to describe the four nucleon correlations using microscopic nuclear models.

However, it was reported that the theoretical description of the reaction cannot reproduce experimental data. In this work, we describe the Ne(,)O reaction within the distorted wave impulse approximation with a -O cluster wave function constructed by the antisymmetrized molecular dynamics. We show that the Ne(,)O cross section is quantitatively well reproduced by the present framework without any adjustable parameters. This success demonstrates that the proton-induced knockout reaction is a quantitative probe for the clustering.

We formulate a new wave function of the Tohsaki-Horiuchi-Schuck-Rpke type for the structure of Be and adopt it to the distorted wave impulse approximation framework for the knockout reaction calculation. We reproduced the low-lying spectrum of Be, and the knockout cross section is theoretically predicted.

We consider Ne(,)O and Sn(,)Cd at 100 - 400 MeV within the distorted wave impulse approximation (DWIA) framework. We introduce a which shows how the reaction amplitude in the nuclear interior is suppressed and defines the probed region of the cluster wave function. It is clearly shown by means of the masking function that thanks to the absorption of distorting potentials, the knockout reaction probes the cluster amplitude in the nuclear surface region, which is the direct measure of well-developed cluster states.

The alpha clustering has been one of the main interest in nuclear physics. In order to probe the alpha clustering through reaction observables, the proton-induced alpha knockout reaction, (p,p alpha), is considered in this study. The purpose of this work is to reveal how the alpha cluster amplitude is probed through the (p,p alpha) reactions. Within the distorted wave impulse approximation (DWIA) framework, We have newly introduced the "masking function" which defines the probed region of the alpha cluster amplitude through the (p,p alpha) reactions. It has been clearly shown by means of the masking function that the alpha knockout reaction probes the alpha cluster in the nuclear surface, which will be the direct measure of well-developed alpha cluster states. A simplified form of the masking function is also introduced and the incident energy dependence of the masking effect is investigated. As a conclusion, alpha knockout reaction can be the probe for the alpha cluster amplitude in the nuclear surface owing to the masking effect originated from the absorption of distorting potentials, and is a suitable method to investigate how alpha cluster states are spatially developed.

In this presentation I will discuss the investigation on cluster states through knockout reaction cross section analyses, Ne and Ti in particular. The cluster states of these nuclei are described by the Antisymmetrized Molecular Dynamics (AMD), and the Distorted Wave Impulse Approximation (DWIA) is adopted as a reaction theory. Within the framework of these structure and reaction theories, the theoretical knockout reaction cross section is calculated and the comparison between existing data is discussed.
