We have developed a software platform which supports working steps for providing large amount of diverse monitoring data. It was found that the platform is effective in reducing the time needed to publish the monitoring data. Reducing the cost and workload for publishing the monitoring data is also important, because monitoring should be continued over a few decades in the case of Fukushima accident. Our platform is expected to help to mitigate the problem, too.

The system for saving and providing the data which are related to the radionuclides in Fukushima prefecture and the neighboring prefectures has been developed. The data mainly include the dose-rate and the analysis result of the soil and water samples. The Center for Computational Science and e-Systems developed the system under the study on distribution of radioactive substances around Fukushima Dai-ichi Nuclear Power Plant founded by MEXT. Proceeding with the installation of the data which are collected by MEXT and Fukushima prefecture, the system are being enhanced more.

In nuclear emergencies, it is especially important to carry out environmental monitoring over a wide range and provide the data immediately so as to understand the current distribution of radionuclides and investigate countermeasures. Therefore, it is indispensable for a nuclear emergency response to establish a system that supports rapid provision of these data. We have been developing the software platform by integrating technologies of environmental monitoring, information processing, and network communication, based on the experience of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Accident.
