The detection system consists of scintillation fibers with a MPPC readout. A prototype and a readout electronics for MPPC have already been developed. The prototype consisting of a scintillation fiber tracker and a BGO calorimeter was tested with a proton beam of 80 MeV. Energy resolutions of the tracker of 22.0% (s) and the calorimeter of 1.0% (s) were obtained for 1 MeV and 70 MeV energy deposit, respectively. The prototype readout electronics has an ASIC for multichannel operation, EASIROC, and a Silicon TCP (SiTCP) interface to communicate with a DAQ system. Its data transfer rate measured was 14 kHz. Required performances for the prototype system have been achieved except for the energy resolution of the prototype fiber tracker.

It is natural to be consider that quark level interaction for nuclear force because that is based on strong interaction. Quark Pauli effect is expected as a candidate for origin of a strong repulsive core of nuclear force in a short range. p scattering is a good probe to approach quark Pauli effect. Several experiments were performed at KEK PS in past, however, the statistics was still poor. Hyperon-nucleon scattering is difficult experimentally due to the short life time of hyperons. In J-PARC E40, we determine a phase shift of of p scattering with 20% accuracy. New detectors, scintillation fiber trackers, are under development to obtain sufficient statistics. In this conference I will talk about physics in E40, a new experimental method, developments and status of a J-PARC accelerator.

Recent Lattice-QCD calculations show the baryon-baryon potential corresponding to the H-dibaryon is attactive, and predicts H-dibaryon is either a weakly bound state or a resonance state. On the other hand, KEK-E224, E522 experiments observed a peak near the invariant mass spectrum, which suggests existence of H-dibaryon. However, due to low statistics and low mass resolution, they did not discover the evidence for H-dibaryon. We propose an experiment (P-42) to search for H-dibaryon at J-PARC with Kaon beams with improved statistics and mass resolutions. In this experiment, a dipole magnet spectrometer based on high-rate capable GEM-TPC is designed to reconstruct 2 protons and to 2 s decaying from a H-dibaryon.

In the J-PARC K1.8 beamline and J-PARC E40 experiment, we will use the fiber tracker consisting of scintillation fibers and multi pixel photon counter (MPPC). Each fiber of this detector is read by one MPPC. The total number of channels will be 5,000. We are developing a new readout electronics with EASIROC developed by Omega/IN2P3 in France for MPPC readout. As the first step of the development, we made an evaluation board with EASIROC and SiTCP. EASIROC and ADCs on the board are controlled by the FPGA. The FPGA communicates with DAQ system via netword by using SiTCP. All essential functions such as gain adjustment of MPPPC, A/D conversion and data transmit to DAQ system are included in this board. We did performance evaluation with this board. Signal to noise ratio for analogue input is 6. Inclusive timing jitter is 150 ps (). Data transmit speed is 14 kHz. These performance are sufficient for our experiment.

Hyperon-nucleon scattering experiment is one of the powerful methods for studying YN interaction. However, it is difficult due to short lifetime of hyperon. scattering experiments were performed as KEK E251 and KEK E289 in order to measure the differential cross sections. In these experiments, statistics were limited to less than 100 events and differential cross section had too large statistical errors to restrict baryon-baryon interaction models. J-PARC E40 experiment aims for measuring cross sections of scatterings with high statistics (10000 events) by overcoming difficulties of hyperon-nucleon scattering experiment. By using high rate ( 19M /spill) beam and large acceptance spectrometer, we can produce and tag large amount of beam. LH target and surrounding detector system CATCH enable us to reconstruct reactions from two body kinematics. Our experimental group completed data taking and about half of data taking by 2019 Apr. Left data taking will be performed in the end of this fiscal year.
