Spin-pump-induced spin transport in $$p$$-type Si at room temperature

A spin battery concept is applied for the dynamical generation of pure spin current and spin transport in $$p$$-type silicon ($$p$$-Si). Ferromagnetic resonance and effective s-d coupling in Ni$$_{80}$$Fe$$_{20}$$ results in spin accumulation at the Ni$$_{80}$$Fe$$_{20}$$/$$p$$-Si interface, inducing spin injection and the generation of spin current in the $$p$$-Si. The pure spin current is converted to a charge current by the inverse spin Hall effect of Pd evaporated onto the $$p$$-Si. This approach demonstrates the generation and transport of pure spin current in $$p$$-Si at room temperature.

Seismic interferometric imaging from a point source in the ground

Shiraishi, Kazuya*; Matsuoka, Toshifumi*; Matsuoka, Toshiyuki; Tanoue, Masayoshi*; Yamaguchi, Shinji*

Journal of Seismic Exploration, 15, p.323 - 332, 2007/00

Seismic interferometry can reconstruct reflection responses by means of cross-correlation of transmission responses on the surface. An advantage of this method is that one can simulate as many shot records as the number of receivers with only one data set. We applied this method to reverse VSP data acquired by one explosive source in the subsurface at a civil construction site in Mizunami, Japan. From the observed transmission records, shot gathers are reconstructed applying cross-correlation, and following data processing including poststack migration we obtain a two-dimensional subsurface image. This section is clear enough to evaluate subsurface structures.

A Study on evaluation of decommissioning scenarios for a nuclear reactor facility, 2; An Evaluation on characteristics of facility for decommissioning scenarios

no journal, ,

In the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant, normal decommissioning scenarios can't be applied because the facility characteristics are different from the other. Therefore, we have studied on influence for scenarios by the characteristics.
