Also, the features of each system are described. The contribution of the JFT-2M in these areas are summarized.

In the first case, ferritic steel was installed between toroidal field coil and vacuum vessel, just under toroidal field coil, outside vacuum vessel. In the second one, ferritic steel was installed inside vacuum vessel covering almost whole inside wall. The ripple was successfully reduced in the both cases. The temperature increment on the first wall measured by infrared TV was also reduced. A new version of OFMC code was also developed to analyze fast ion behavior in the complex structure of the toroidal field. The TF ripple reduction with ferritic insert in JFT-2M is summarized in this article.

The fluctuation of ponderomotive potential at a beat wave frequency between the two frequency fast waves produces the actual potential fluctuation via electron and ion motions. A heavy ion beam probe (HIBP) detected the potential fluctuation patterns at a beat wave frequency during the fast wave pulse. The amplitude of potential fluctuations decreases with increasing an electron temperature in fast wave current drive (FWCD) experiments of JFT-2M, due to the improvement of wave absorption via electron Landau damping. The measured potential fluctuation does not contradict with the prediction using a full wave code calculations.

The Japan Proton Accelerator Research Complex (J-PARC) is a multipurpose facility for scientific experiments. The J-PARC facilities were constructed at the Tokai site of the Japan Atomic Energy Agency. The accelerator complex consists of a linac, a 3 GeV rapid-cycling synchrotron (RCS) and a main ring synchrotron (MR). The RCS delivers a proton beam to the neutron target and MR, and the MR delivers the beams to the neutrino target and the Hadron Experimental Facility. The first operation of the neutron experiments began in December 2008. In January 2009, we achieved a slow extraction of the hadron beam line at the MR. The regular neutrino experiments to obtain physical data began in January 2010. Following this, user operation has been continued with some accidental suspensions. In this report, the reliability of J-PARC and the major causes of suspension are summarized.
