Proceedings of International Conference on Accelerator and Large Experimental Physics Control Systems (ICALEPCS '07) (CD-ROM), p.62 - 64, 2007/10
J-PARC is a large scale facility of the proton accelerators for the multi-purpose of scientific researches in Japan. This facility consists of three accelerators and three experimental stations. Now, J-PARC is under construction, and LINAC is operated for one year, 3GeV synchrotron has just started the commissioning in this October the 1st. The completion of this facility will be next summer. The control system of accelerators established fundamental performance for the initial commissioning. The most important requirement to the control system of this facility is to minimize the activation of accelerator devices. In this paper, we show that the performances of each layer of this control system have been achieved in the initial stage.

Lanthanide copper oxides of a general formula CuO (: Lanthanide) crystallize in two different structures: the KNiF-type(T-type) and the NdCuO-type(T'-type). The crystal structure of LaCuO synthesized by the solid-state reaction at elevated temperatures, 1000C, is the T-type. Recently, Tsukada et al. have reported that T'-(La,Ln)CuO films, which were prepared at 600C using the molecular beam epitaxy and then annealed in vacuum, show superconductivity with 25K. Here, we report that polycrystalline bulk samples of T'-LaCuO have been successfully synthesized by precipitation from the molten NaOH/KOH eutectic mixture at a temperature as low as 350C. The powder X-ray diffraction pattern has revealed the formation of a single phase with the T'-type structure. The lattice parameters are a4.02 and c12.49. The a-axis length is much larger than that of PrCuO (a3.96). However, no superconductivity is observed at t2K in the magnetic susceptibility and electrical resistivity measurements.

In the experimental study of hadron properties at J-PARC, especially for the study of hyperon (including production and decay properties), it is essential to measure decayed particles around the experimental target with larger solid angle. In this report, status of development of the 3-dimensional tracking detector is presented.

We performed resonant inelastic X-ray scattering at Cu-K absorption edge to study charge excitations in hole-doped high-Tc cuprate La(Sr,Ba)CuO. By subtracting elastic and molecular orbital excitation components from RIXS spectra, we have found dispersing charge excitation below 4 eV. This is the first success of observation of intra-band excitation which reflects dynamical charge-charge correlation function in the hole-doped system.

Cs-137 released from the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant (FDNPP) accident was conducted by 12 models. The present study focuses on differences in the model results of atmospheric Cs-137 concentration of Plume 2, which traveled southward in the morning of 15 March, 2011, in the area 100 to 200 km downwind from FDNPP by using the concentration data recently evaluated from gamma radiation spectral data at monitoring stations (MS data) and those measured from the suspended particulate matter filters (SPM data). Comparison was made from the following aspects: (1) plume arrival time, (2) concentration level, (3) cross-wind surface concentration profile, (4) vertical concentration profile and (5) mass balance of Cs-137 activity including deposition processes. Additional analyses were made also for Plume 4, which traveled over the same area on 16 March under rainy condition.
