Times Cited Count:4 Percentile:13.67(Physics, Applied)We investigated the correlation between the thremomagnetic curve of CoZ-Type hexagonal barium ferrite, BaCoFeO and its magnetic moment direction. The thermomagnetic curve shows two significant magnetization slumps at 540K and 680K. High-temperature neutron diffraction experiment and Rietveld analyses indicate that temperature rise from 523 to 573K makes the magnetic moments turn to the c-axis from a direction parallel to the c-plane most significantly. The change in average orientation of the magnetic moments must be induced by the disappearence of the contribution of cobalt to magnetism in this temperature.

The Engineering Materials Diffractometer TAKUMI is now being developed at J-PARC project. TAKUMI is one of the prospective instruments to promote industrial users programs, and has main specifications as follows. A high intensity to realize short measuring times, a high resolution to assure high accuracies on stresses and microscopic strains measurements, and an enough wavelength bandwidth for analyzes of anisotropic deformation behaviors and textures in bulk engineering materials. TAKUMI views a decoupled-poisoned H moderator, has 40m L1 and 2.0m L2. Main detector banks are located at 90 deg scattering angle. A curved neutron guide with focusing-vertically tapered at the tail part is used to transport neutrons. From a Monte Carlo simulation, a resolution of about 0.15% has been confirmed for high resolution mode. TAKUMI has an effective wavelength bandwidth of about 3.51 at a 25Hz disk chopper operation, that gives more than 15 reflections for steel samples.
