In this study, we employed a superconducting detector, current-biased kinetic-inductance detector (CB-KID) for neutron imaging using a pulsed neutron source. We employed the delay-line method, and high spatial resolution imaging with only four reading channels was achieved. We also performed wavelength-resolved neutron imaging by the time-of-flight method. We obtained the neutron transmission images of a Gd-Al alloy sample, inside which single crystals of GdAl$$_{3}$$ were grown, using the delay-line CB-KID. Single crystals were well imaged, in both shapes and distributions, throughout the Al-Gd alloy. We identified Gd nuclei via neutron transmissions that exhibited characteristic suppression above the neutron wavelength of 0.03 nm. In addition, the $$_{155}$$Gd resonance dip, a dip structure of the transmission caused by the nuclear reaction between an isotope and neutrons, was observed even when the number of events was summed over a limited area of 15 $$mu$$m $$times$$ 12 $$mu$$m. Gd selective imaging was performed using the resonance dip of $$_{155}$$Gd, and it showed clear Gd distribution even with a limited neutron wavelength range of 1 pm.

A large area, two-dimensional scintillation neutron detector was developed for Takumi diffractometer in the J-PARC MLF. The detector is made based on a scintillator/wavelength shifting fiber technology. The detector has a neutron-sensitive area of 32 $$times$$ 32 cm with a pixel size of 5 $$times$$ 5 mm, which is about 1.5-fold larger than the SENJU detector TAKUMI is one of the neutron diffractometers in the MLF dedicated to use for engineering material research. The developed detector array adds new capabilities to the instrument to measure two-dimensional data collection at the back-scattering angles with a better time-of-flight resolution.

The technology development section carries out the development of the neutron polarization device: $$^{3}$$He Spin Filter. It is often used for the fundamental physics region. In order to explain the matter-dominated universe, a time reversal violation is necessary and searches for new physics are conducted in the world. The T-violation search using a polarized neutron beam is planned at J-PARC. A large $$^{3}$$He spin filter is needed to polarize high energy neutrons for the experiment and is developed in JAEA. Recently, we developed the accurate measurement system to evaluate the polarization of $$^{3}$$He and a vacuum system to make the $$^{3}$$He spin filter, and large $$^{3}$$He spin filters for epi-thermal neutron was made using the system. The current status of the development of the $$^{3}$$He spin filter will be talked.
