The existence of a mu-e conversion process is expected by some theories beyond the standard model in particle physics, but has not been discovered yet due to its low probability. The DeeMe experiment, proposed at J-PARC Material Life Science Facility (MLF), is planned to find the mu-e conversion process on a Muon production target. In order to distinguish mu-e event signal from a background, the number of a proton that comes after hundreds of nanoseconds from the main beam should be less than one per one hour during the DeeMe experiment. Therefore we designed a new measurement system to confirm low background level. A simulation result showed that the new system could detect such delayed proton.

Level structure of the $$^{12}_{Lambda}$$C hypernucleus was precisely determined by means of $$gamma$$-ray spectroscopy. We identified four $$gamma$$-ray transitions via the $$^{12}$$C$$(pi^{+},K^{+}gamma)$$ reaction using a germanium detector array, Hyperball2. The spacing of the ground-state doublet $$(2^{-}, 1^{-}_{1})$$ was measured to be $$161.5pm0.3$$(stat)$$pm0.3$$ (syst)keV from the direct $$M1$$ transition. Excitation energies of the $$1^{-}_{2}$$ and $$1^{-}_{3}$$ states were measured to be $$2832pm3pm4$$, keV and $$6050pm8pm7$$, keV, respectively. The obtained level energies provide definitive references for the reaction spectroscopy of $$Lambda$$ hypernuclei.

DeeMe collaboration aims to search for the Mu-e conversion in nuclear field at J-PARC Materials and Life Science Facility (MLF) with a sensitivity of 10$$^{-14}$$, two orders of magnitude below current limits. The experiment will be conducted by using the muon beam provided at MLF. In the DeeMe experiment, one of major background source is the electrons produced by late-arriving primary protons. This type of background is called "after-proton" background since the background is caused by the protons coming late "after" the main proton beam. In this presentation, we present the resent results of after proton measurement.
