Moreover, in order to obtain the basic mechanism of hydrogen permeation with metal cation, first-principles calculations were used to acquire the adsorption potential of the metal cation and the electronic state around iron surface. By Zn in solution, anodic reaction on ablated surface by laser irradiation was suppressed. Also, by quantum analysis Zn atoms were chemically bonded stronger than Na and Mg atoms to iron surface. It was suggested that the dissolution reaction of iron was suppressed by the formation of the Zn layer, and that lead suppression of hydrogen permeation into iron.

The knowledge of the interaction between organic molecules and semiconductor surfaces plays an important role in adapting organic semiconductors into the semiconductor technology. In the present study, the process of -sexithiophene (-6T) thin layer formation on passivated silicon (Si) surfaces has been investigated in-situ by means of PES, angle-depended NEXAFS (near-edge X-ray absorption fine-structure), SDRS, and RDS. For water-adsorbed Si(001), it was found that the majority of -6T molecules are standing on the substrate. Above 3 nm, most of molecules are standing and constitute well ordered islands or films. For ethylene adsorbed Si(001) on the contrary, some of -6T molecules are flat-lying, resulting in less prominent orientation. Thus, the orientation of molecules depends on the method of passivation, which opens the possibility of controlling the molecular orientation by the surface modification.

Gas Cooled Reactor has long history of nuclear development, and High Temperature Gas Cooled Reactor (HTGR) has been expected that it can be supply high temperature energy to chemical industry and to power generation from the points of view of the safety, the efficiency, the environment and the economy. The HTGR design is tried to installed passive safety equipment. The current licensing review guideline was made for a Low Water Reactor (LWR) on safety evaluation therefore if it would be directly utilized in the HTGR it needs the special consideration for the HTGR. This paper describes that investigation result of the safety design and the safety evaluation traditions for the HTGR, comparison the safety design and safety evaluation feature for the HTGT with it's the LWR, and reflection for next HTGR based on HTTR operational experiment.
