Proceedings of 17th International Conference on Computing in Civil and Building Engineering (ICCCBE 2018) (Internet), 8 Pages, 2018/06

This paper presents status of development of the iSRE (integrated system for repository engineering) as a design supporting system that enables rational designing of a geological disposal repository. The complimentary technique of construction information modeling/management (CIM) has been employed for the development of iSRE. CIM uses a shared three dimensional (3D) model of associated data through common data models. In this paper, as a design support system that conforms to the characteristics of information management about engineering technology represented by repetition of design during the disposal project period, we examined and designed the function of the "iSRE", constructed a prototype, and confirmed the function through a trial simulating actual work in the disposal project. As a result, with respect to the functions of DB and IF of the iSRE, we got a prospect that these functions can be the foundation of information management on engineering technology, and development of the prototype of the iSRE and its test run extracted issues for practical use of such system.

Proceedings of 16th International Conference on Computing in Civil and Building Engineering (ICCCBE 2016) (Internet), p.1173 - 1182, 2016/07

The contents of this paper are the goal of the development, design requirements and required functions, the basic structure of iSRE. The main databases of the iSRE could then be designed with an interface to coordinate with external systems and other databases. Some of the databases and the interfaces were trialed and a data model was then built. A scenario of iSRE operation was also created and the applicability of iSRE using a data model was also examined. Thanks to the use of the existing software, the development process could be conducted while solving problems for realistic test cases. The prospect of the development of the iSRE for geological disposal projects was realized and the iSRE was confirmed as being a useful tool for designing a repository.

We report on the characteristic anion-exchange behavior of the superheavy element dubnium (Db) with atomic number Z = 105 in HF/HNO$$_{3}$$ solution at the fluoride ion concentration [F$$^{-}$$] = 0.003 M. The result clearly demonstrates that the fluoro complex formation of Db is significantly different from that of the group-5 homologue Ta in the 6th period of the periodic table while the behavior of Db is similar to that of the lighter homologue Nb in the 5th period.

Nonlinear processes between meso-scale structures and turbulent fluctuations in the edge region of the toroidal plasmas were studied using the bispectrum analysis. In the JFT-2M tokamak, divertor plasmas were investigated as well as the limiter plasmas, and the amplitude and phase of the bispectrum function of the potential fluctuation were found to be consistent with an analysis of the drift wave-zonal flow system. In the CHS machine, the edge plasmas during the H-mode were investigated. It was found that the edge potential begins to decrease before the decrease of the intensity of the deuterium line (by about 30ms), and the edge fluctuations are found to be composed of low frequency MHD fluctuations, drift wave like broad band electrostatic fluctuations and high frequency electromagnetic fluctuations. Nonlinear coupling between the MHD fluctuations and the electrostatic fluctuations or the electromagnetic fluctuations were found for the first time.

The results of the analyses of nonlinear processes in the plasma in JFT-2M tokamak and CHS machine are reported. In both machines, the measurements of the fluctuations were done by electrostatic probes. The obtained bicoherence and biphase from the potential data in JFT-2M were found to be close to the values obtained from a theoretical model of the interaction of the zonal flow and the drift wave turbulence. Therefore the experimentally obtained nonlinear interaction is considered to be that interaction of the zonal flow and the drift wave turbulence. By the analysis of the CHS H-mode plasma, a marked nonlinear interaction was found between a characteristic MHD magnetic fluctuation and density turbulence. By analysing the cross bispectrum of the density fluctuation and the potential fluctuation, it was found that the fluctuating particle flux is affected by the MHD oscillation. As stated above, we progressed in the investigation of the nonlinear processes of the edge plasmas.

We present an invited talk on the experimental study of the nonlinear interaction processes of the edge plasma turbulence studied in the JFT-2M tokamak machine of JAEA and in the CHS helical machine of the NIFS. We made a progress in understanding the nonlinear interaction of the drift wave turbulence and the zonal flow by measuring the potential fluctuations and density fluctuations by the measurement of the electrostatic probes. We found that the measured indices such as the bicoherence or the biphase are consistent with the results of a theoretical study of the drift-wave-zonal-flow system for the first time. We also made the convergence characteristic of these indices clear against the realization numbers for the first time. The study progresses the understanding of the plasma turbulence and structural formation in the plasma, and the results contributes much to the understanding of the transport process in the plasma.

Anion-exchange chromatographic behavior of element 105, dubnium (Db), produced in the $$^{248}$$Cm($$^{19}$$F,5n)$$^{262}$$Db reaction is investigated together with the homologues Nb and Ta in HF/HNO$$_3$$ mixed media using a newly developed on-line experimental system. The result indicates that the adsorption sequence on the anion-exchange resin is Ta$$gg$$Nb$$geq$$Db, and the fluoride complex formation of Db is expected to be weaker than that of homologues.

Dubnium-262 was produced in the $$^{248}$$Cm($$^{19}$$F, 5n) reaction at the JAEA tandem accelerator. Reaction products were rapidly transported by a He/KF gas-jet system to the chemistry laboratory. Anion-exchange behavior of Db in HF/HNO$$_{3}$$ solution was then investigated using the newly developed on-line ion-exchange and $$alpha$$-particle detection apparatus. Distribution coefficients of Db were clearly smaller than those of Ta, the closest homologue in the periodic table, and were close to those of lighter homologue Nb and also the pseudo homologue Pa. Fluoride complex formation of Db will be discussed.

We have investigated the chemical behavior of Db together with its group-5 homologues by anion-exchange chromatography in HF/HNO$$_{3}$$ mixed solution using a rapid online chemical apparatus (AIDA-II). The nuclides $$^{262}$$Db, $$^{88}$$Nb and $$^{169,170}$$Ta were produced in the $$^{248}$$Cm($$^{19}$$F, ${it 5}$n), $$^{nat}$$Ge($$^{19}$$F, ${it x}$n) and $$^{nat}$$Gd($$^{19}$$F, ${it x}$n) reactions, respectively, at the JAEA tandem accelerator. On-line anion-exchange separations of Db, Nb and Ta were performed using the AIDA-II. Thousand times of anion-exchange separations were conducted using AIDA-II. $$alpha$$ events were registered, and the $${it K_d}$$ values for Db was evaluated. From these results, the adsorption sequence Pa $$<$$ Db $$<$$ Nb $$ll$$ Ta was determined. The present result shows a notable difference in the adsorption behavior between Db and its homologue Ta. In the conference, the present status and the perspective of the aqueous chemistry of Db at JAEA will be also presented.
