Interatomic Coulombic decay (ICD) in Ar$$_2$$, ArKr and Kr$$_2$$ following Ar 2p or Kr 3d Auger decay has been investigated by means of momentum-resolved electron-ion-ion-coincidence spectroscopy. This sequential decay leads to Coulombic dissociation into dication and monocation. Simultaneously determining the kinetic energy of the ICD electron and the kinetic energy release between the two atomic ions, we could unambiguously identify the ICD channels. We find that, in general, spin conserved ICD, in which the singlet (triplet) dicationic state produced via the atomic Auger decay preferentially decays to the singlet (triplet) state, transferring the energy to the other atom, is faster than the spin-flip ICD, in which the Auger final singlet (triplet) dicationic state decays to the triplet (singlet) state.

Negatively charged nitrogen-vacancy (NV$$^{-}$$) centers were created in high quality IIa diamonds by nitrogen (N) implantation. To identify implanted N atoms and their incident position, micro ion beams of $$^{15}$$N (natural abundance 0.37%) were applied. Since the reduction of $$^{13}$$C affects an increase in T$$_{2}$$, N implantation into a CVD diamond with high purity of $$^{12}$$C (99.99%) was carried out. As a result, the value of T$$_{2}$$ for both $$^{15}$$NV$$^{-}$$ and $$^{14}$$NV$$^{-}$$ centers ($$^{14}$$NV$$^{-}$$ centers are created from $$^{14}$$N atoms originally existing in the diamond and vacancy introduced by implantation after annealing) was obtained to be about 2 ms. By optically detected magnetic resonance (ODMR) measurements, the creation yield of both $$^{15}$$NV$$^{-}$$ and $$^{14}$$NV$$^{-}$$ was estimated.

We have measured optically-detected magnetic resonance (ODMR) of single spin of NV center in a high purity $$^{12}$$C enriched CVD diamond created by $$^{15}$$N ion implantation. Detailed ODMR measurements of individual NV centers revealed that both $$^{14}$$NV and $$^{15}$$NV were created by the $$^{15}$$N implantation with a ratio of [$$^{14}$$NV]/[$$^{15}$$NV] $$sim$$ 1 and a high conversion yield of 70-100% for [$$^{14}$$NV+$$^{15}$$NV]. The spin coherence time of $$T_2$$ was measured to be 2 ms at room temperature, which is the longest ever recorded in implanted samples. This result is expected to have a significant impact on realizing NV based applications.
