We simulated a meandering effect of wind direction fluctuation on horizontal gas diffusion over Mt. Tsukuba, using a rotating turntable in the wind tunnel experiment. Experimental results were validated with field data observed by Japan Atomic Energy Research Institute (JAERI), 1989 and 1990. We also simulated actual unsteady phenomena of airflow and gas diffusion over Mt. Tsukuba, and compared the calculated results with field data. Both data agreed well under neutral, stable and unstable atmospheric stabilities.

It is a very difficult task to select a site of recharge dam in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, because rainfall events is very rare and there is no discharge data of water flow in river. It is also very difficult to estimate storage water volume at each dam from limited meteorological data observed, because observation sites are so few that they sparsely exist. Japanese national project team for global water cycle developed an integrated simulation system constituted by simulation models of rainfall, water discharge and ground water. This model system is presented and its applicability to the water management in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is discussed.
