However, the effects of Am content in fuel on thermal conductivity are unclear because there are no experimental data on thermal conductivity of high Am bearing MOX fuel. In this study, The thermal conductivities of near stoichiometric (UPuAm)O solid solutions(z = 0.05, 0.10, and 0.15) have been measured between room temperature (RT) and 1473 K. The thermal conductivities decreased with increasing Am content and satisfied the classical phonon transport model ((A+BT)) up to about 1473 K. A values increased linearly with increasing Am content because the change in ionic radius affects the conduction of the phonon due to the solid solution in U and Am. B values were independent of Am content.

J-PARC is a large scale facility of the proton accelerators for the multi-purpose of scientific researches in Japan. This facility consists of three accelerators and three experimental stations. Now, J-PARC is under construction, and LINAC is operated for one year, 3GeV synchrotron has just started the commissioning in this October the 1st. The completion of this facility will be next summer. The control system of accelerators established fundamental performance for the initial commissioning. The most important requirement to the control system of this facility is to minimize the activation of accelerator devices. In this paper, we show that the performances of each layer of this control system have been achieved in the initial stage.

R&D works for MW class solid target composed of tungsten to produce pulsed intense neutron source has been made in order to construct a future scattering facility. Three methods were investigated to prevent corrosion of tungsten from water; those are hipping, brazing and electric coating in molten salt bath. Hipping condition was optimized to be 1500 degree C in the previous work: here small punch test shows highest load for crack initiation of hipped materials at the boundary of W/Ta. The basic techniques for the other two methods were developed. Erosion test showed that uncovered W is susceptible of flowing water velocity. At high velocity w is easy to be eroded. For solid target design slab type and rod type targets were studied. As long as the optimized neutron performance is concerned, 1MW solid target is better than mercury target.
