In the Facility of Radiation Standards (FRS) of JAEA, mono-energetic neutron calibration fields and a high-energy $$gamma$$-ray calibration field using a 4MV Van de Graaff accelerator has been established, for calibration or characteristic tests of radiation measuring instruments. In this presentation, usage status and details of troubles occurred in the FRS accelerator in recent years will be reported.
