We report on the industrial deployment of FBG sensors fabricated by picosecond pulse laser precision processing and the start of new collaborative research. A radiation-resistant FBG sensor was fabricated atdeltafiber.jp, a company to which JAEA transferred its FBG sensor fabrication technology. This sensor was installed in the J-CUPID for water-hammer effect demonstration and manipulator at the training facility owned by J-Tech Corporation, which is engaged in human resource development for nuclear fuel reprocessing plants.

The technologies surrounding the 1F decommissioning work are gradually forming a network with various industrial fields. Here, we report on the technical collaboration related to remote strain measurement centered on Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) sensing. Strain monitoring can be used for gripping force measurement of manipulators in case of handling fragile debris due to weathering effects. FBG sensing for pipeline maintenance and heat exchanger device are introduced.
