At Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), An AFDM (Advanced Fluid-dyamics Model) code was developed under lnternational cooperation of the research institutes in the USA, West Germany, Italy, France and Japan. For the safety analysis of FBRs, it was developed to increase accuracy in fluid-dynamics calculations and to extend its applicability. This report summarizes the installation of the AFDM code on the computer system at the Oarai Engineering Center, Power Reactor and Nuclear Fuel Development Corporation (PNC). In order to install it on the FACOM computer system at PNC, it was necessary to correct various parts of the source program from the CRAY version developed at LANL. The latest version of AFDM has been successfully installed on the computer system at PNC. The results of the sample calculations performed at PNC were satisfactory when they were compared with those at LANL. This report also describes the optimization of the code on the vector processor FACOM-VP100 at PNC made in the process of the installation.
