There have been a growing interest in manipulating spintronic devices by means of heat, and a subfield termed spin caloritronics is rapidly emerging. Quite recently, a unidirectional heat flow that accompanies a special surface spin wave was reported, which draws a considerable attention. In this talk, we discuss that the unidirectional heat flow can be understood in terms of the competition between heat diffusion by phonons and heat drift by the unidirectional spin wave.

We are investigating the applications of spintronics devices in atomic fields. We reported the Tolerance of spin-Seebeck thermoelectricity against heavy swift ion irradiation previously. The tolerance of spin-Seebeck thermoelectricity against gamma ray irradiation will be reported at this conference. The spin thermoelectric properties after gamma ray irradiation up to 1MGy at room temperature and at 150C will be reported.
