Exponent dependency of neutron multiplication factor distribution in system randomized with $$1/f^{beta}$$ frequency spectrum

We investigated the effect of the degree of randomness on the distribution of neutron multiplication factors ($$k_{eff}$$) calculated for fuel debris for the purpose of criticality risk assessment. The calculation results with the model randomized with $$1/f^{beta}$$ frequency spectrum showed a positive correlation between the exponent $$beta$$ and variance of the ($$k_{eff}$$) distribution.
