Sequence of events and concept of geological disposal for TRU waste

超ウラン核種を含む放射性廃棄物(以下「TRU廃棄物」)については、廃棄体の放射能濃度に応じて、浅地中処分,余裕深度処分、及び地層処分に区分したうえで処分されることが検討されている。本稿では、とくに地層処分についてこれまでの取組みの経緯とともに、その考え方を紹介する。

TRU wastes are classified as three types, those corresponding to near-surfece disposal, sub-surface disposal and geological disposal, due to their radioactivity concentrations. This article focuses on the waste corresponding to geological disposal and describes the sequence of events on the disposal project. Also a concept of the disposalis shown.
