Effect of heat treatment on precipitation behavior of 9Cr steel

Kimura, Kenichi*; Mogi, Satoshi*; Nakazawa, Takanori*; Wakai, Takashi

This paper describes the effect of normalizing and tempering conditions on precipitation behavior in a 9Cr alloy. It is supposed that normalizing process at 1373K followed by water quenching is adequate to achieve an ideal microstructure after tempering. Fine and densely distributed precipitates can be obtained by double tempering process at 823K and 1023K.
