Natural analogue in relation to alkaline alteration of clayey buffer material; An Example from the Searles Lake, California, 1; Numerical simulation of groundwater flow

Numerical modeling of the Searles Lake, California, was carried out to gain insight into the flow conditions of the area, in line with the analysis of the processes occurring in natural analogues of alkaline environments. The model successfully depicted the groundwater movement within the lake and surroundings, and generated a reasonable approximation of the salinity distribution when compared with the geochemical information available.
