We have reviewed the effect of B-site randomness in PIN from the experimental and theoretical viewpoints. Lattice dynamics measured in ordered and disordered PINs represent the existence of ferroelectric (FE) instability regardless of B-site randomness. It shows the coexistence of FE and antiferroelectric (AFE) instabilities in PIN. B-site randomness controls the balance between FE and AFE instabilities. We constructed a minimal model that includes dipolar interaction and easy-axis anisotropy which depends on B-site randomness. The results from Monte Carlo simulations show that the model well reproduces the phase diagram and the dielectric constant of PIN qualitatively.
