放射線に関する技術と知識の普及をめざし

放射線計測協会が、設立30周年を迎えるにあたり、これまで日本の原子力・放射線利用の安全な推進に果たしてきた協会の貢献をたたえるとともに、今後の事業活動に対する期待を述べる。原子力機構が開発した照射設備及び校正技術を使い、原子力発電所等の放射線測定器の品質向上に尽くしたこと、簡易放射線測定器を用いて放射線知識を広く社会に啓蒙したことが大きな貢献である。

At the 30th anniversary of the Institute of Radiation Measurements, a praise should be given to the Institute for its great contribution to the safe development of nuclear and radiological technology in Japan. Two significant contributions should be pointed out. One is the quality improvement of radiation measurement instruments in nuclear power stations applying techniques developed by JAEA, and the other is the enlightement of radiation knowledge over the society using user-friendly radiation meters.
