The 3-GeV RCS of J-PARC is operating well with a beam power of 300 kW and also achieved an equivalent beam power of 540 kW in recent studies. It is simply demonstrated that the designed beam power of 1 MW (8.33$$times$$10$$^{13}$$ ppp) or even more is thus achievable with an upgraded 400 MeV injection as the space-charge force is sufficiently less dominated as compared to the present 181 MeV injection. The extraction system is also very stable and there exists almost no issues even for 1 MW operation. The DeeMe experiment is proposed for searching muon-electron conversion in the nuclear field at sensitivity of 10$$^{-14}$$ by fully utilizing the pulsed proton beam extracted from the RCS. The after protons from the RCS should be negligibly small in order to realize such a high sensitivity. For the present beam power, measured after protons are found to meets DeeMe requirement and has also been estimated to stay almost in the same level even for 1 MW beam.
