Collaboration with Republic of Kazakhstan regarding development of HTGR, 4; Collaborative research of heat utilization plant for HTGR

From the viewpoint of creation of new industries, discussion on early deployment of High-Temperature Gas-cooled reactor (HTGR) system specialized for heat utilization has been started in the Republic of Kazakhstan which is abundant in underground resources such as oil and natural gas. Based on the request from Kazakhstan, JAEA has set about making inquiries on applicability of heat from HTGR to Gas-To-Liquid (GTL) reforming industries.
