The Engineering Materials Diffractometer TAKUMI is in operation at Materials and Life Science Facility of J-PARC in order to promote scientific and industrial studies of materials. Residual stress in industrial products, lattice strain, phase transformation and texture characteristics of materials are investigated using high-resolution neutron diffraction. For this purpose, TAKUMI has various devices including detectors, a large sample stage, optical devices, loading machines, heaters and refrigerators. In order to control these devices sequentially and to perform the measurement easily, controlling system of TAKUMI has been developed. Users can change the position, the orientation, the load and temperature of the sample from GUI panels on a PC. Meanwhile, the data reduction software for TAKUMI was developed. Users can easily obtain diffraction patterns in which intensity was corrected after and during the experiment.
