Introduction of Collaborative Laboratories for Advanced Decommissioning Science (CLADS)

The Collaborative Laboratories for Advanced Decommissioning Science (CLADS) started in Japan Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA) on April 1st, 2015 will be the core of JAEA's research and development (R&D) on the decommissioning of Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station (1F), TEPCO. We are currently planning and carrying out to promote comprehensive R&D from basic research to applied studies, such as radioactive waste processing and disposal, handling and analysis of fuel debris, and accident propagation and behavior evaluation. In FY 2016, the International Collaborative Research Building will be established near the 1F as the base for R&D. In the presentation, outline of the CLADS and its activities will be introduced for future collaboration.
