国際放射線防護委員会(ICRP)は、2007年に放射線防護に関する基本勧告を見直し、その中で放射線防護に用いる実効線量の評価方法を一部改訂した。この改訂に伴い、外部被ばく評価に用いる線量換算係数を再評価する必要性が生じた。その新しい換算係数のデータセットは、ICRP第2専門委員会の線量計算に関するタスクグループDOCALによって取りまとめられ、ICRP Publication 116(ICRP116)として出版された。本発表では、ICRP116の内容を解説し、実効線量の新たな評価方法、従来の換算係数との比較及び違いの分析、線量評価に及ぼす影響などを、放射線防護の実務との関係に触れながら紹介する。

In 2007, the International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP) adopted new fundamental recommendations on radiation protection in ICRP Publication 103 (ICRP103). The recommendations revised procedure for the assessment of effective dose used for radiological protection. The revision required new dose conversion coefficients for external radiation exposures. The sets of conversion coefficients were compiled by the Task Group on Dose Calculations (DOCAL) of ICRP Committee 2, and published as ICRP116. This presentation reviews ICRP116 and discusses the impact of new dose conversion coefficients on radiation protection practice.
