中性子を利用した天然多糖・無機物由来の機能性材料開発

Development of organic-inorganic hybrid materials by using neutron scattering methods

本発表では、中性子小角散乱法を用いた高分子ナノゲル微粒子の内部微細構造の解析結果や、それら微粒子を利用した吸着材等への材料展開について発表する。中性子散乱法では水素と重水素を区別できるため、一部の水素を重水素に置換することにより散乱長にコントラストが付き、多成分系におけるナノ構造を観察することが可能である。解析手法の有用性と共に、構造に関して得られた知見をもとにした材料開発について紹介する。

Nanometer-sized particulate hydrogels, which have characteristic properties of both hydrogels and nanoparticles are attracting growing interest particularly for use as drug delivery carriers and adsorbents. Although the nanoscopic internal structures of the nanoparticles is highly related to their physical and chemical functions, no clear information has been obtained so far due to the complex structure with the multi components. Neutron scattering is a powerful tool to study multicomponent structures with nanometer resolution. In this presentation, I will discuss the results of the structural analysis of the hydrogel nanoparticles by using the neutron scattering method and applications of the particles.
