再生利用可能な除去土壌を分離した後の除去土壌は最終処分される。除去土壌の最終処分場の設計検討に資することを目的として、研究施設等から発生する低レベル放射性廃棄物の処分方法(研廃処分場)を参考として、合理的な設計に向けた費用評価上の課題を検討した。検討に際しては、研廃処分場において、土壌貯蔵施設II型と同構造の遮水工を設置したトレンチ型埋設処分施設(付加機能型トレンチ処分施設)の概念設計をしたことから、その評価方法を適用して実施した。

Removed soil except those that may be reusable/recyclable would be finally disposed of. A general view is obtained in regards to a disposal concept of low level radioactive wastes generated from research, industrial and medical facilities, for the purpose of contributing to designing final disposal facilities of removed soil. It is analyzed to investigate the issues related to cost evaluation in order to reasonably carry out that design, referring to a cost evaluation methodology applied to a trench-type disposal facility, which has been planned by JAEA, with impermeable layers.
