高温ガス炉の概要として、高温ガス炉の安全性や熱利用などに関する特徴、高温ガス炉開発の歴史及び世界における高温ガス炉開発の現状を解説する。また、高温ガス炉技術として、燃料, 黒鉛材料及び金属材料に関する技術、並びに、高温ガス炉の設計として、安全設計, 安全解析, 炉心設計及びバックエンドについて解説する。

As an outline of the HTGR, the characteristics in terms of the safety and heat utilization of HTGR, the history of HTGR, the current status of the development of HTGR in the world are presented. As the HTGR technology, the fuel, the graphite material and the metal material technologies are presented. The safety design, safety analysis, core design, backend are also presented as the HTGR design technology.
