川から海へのセシウム流出量を算出

Simulation of the radiocesium discharge from rivers to the ocean

観測結果をベースとし、河川から海へ流出するセシウム量を精度よく推定する解析モデルを開発した。評価対象河川は阿武隈川と浜通り13河川とし、福島第一原子力発電所事故後の河川を通じて海へ流出する$$^{137}$$Cs流出量を算出した。その結果、事故後半年間の$$^{137}$$Cs流出量は、福島第一原子力発電所から海への直接放出および大気由来のフォールアウト量に比べ、流出量が2桁程度少ないことがわかった。

We developed a model to estimate accurately the radiocesium discharge through rivers to the ocean based on the observed results. Using this model, the $$^{137}$$Cs discharge from Abukuma River and 13 other rivers in the Fukushima coastal region were estimated from immediately after the Fukushima nuclear accident. The $$^{137}$$Cs discharge during the initial six months after the accident were two orders of magnitude smaller than the direct release from Fukushima Dai-ichi Nuclear Power Plant into the ocean and from atmosphere deposition into the ocean.
