Effects of radioactive cesium from suspended matter and fallout on agricultural products

To determine the effects of radioactive Cs in suspended matter and fallout on the secondary contamination of Komatsuna was investigated. The radioactive Cs detected for Komatsuna was resulted by not only suspended matters but also deposition of soil particles that bounced up from the ground due to rainfall. Additionally, the secondary contamination of Komatsuna was derived from not only adhesion to plant surfaces but also adsorption into the plant. Dissolved and particulate forms of radioactive Cs were observed in fallout, of which bioavailable fraction might contributed to the secondary contamination.
