日本原子力研究開発機構の研究用原子炉JRR-3では、冷中性子源減速材容器の更新を予定している。冷中性子源の強度増強を目的に、減速材容器の高性能化のための概念設計を実施した。核特性解析により最適形状を決定したため、新型減速材容器の特性について紹介する。

JRR-3 plans to replace the moderator cell of cold neutron source. The purpose of improve the strength of the cold neutron source, a conceptual design was carried out to improve the performance of the moderator cell. Since the optimum shape was determined by nuclear characteristic analysis, the characteristics of the new moderator cell are introduced.
