日本原子力研究開発機構核燃料サイクル工学研究所では、核燃料輸送事故時の対応能力向上を目的に消防機関と合同で輸送事故対応訓練を実施している。この訓練は、平成14年より継続して実施しており、実践的な訓練の実施により消防機関との相互連携の強化が図れ、訓練の継続により核燃料輸送事故に適切に対応できる知識・経験を有した消防職員の育成に協力している。本件は、訓練の内容及び効果について報告する。

We have been conducting nuclear fuel transportation accident drills jointly with fire agencies since 2002. The purpose of these drills is to improve the capabilities to respond to nuclear fuel transportation accidents. By devising practical drills, we were able to strengthen our partnership with the fire agencies. We have also contributed to fire agencies improving their capabilities to respond to nuclear fuel transportation accidents. This report describes our efforts to improve accident response capabilities, including the details of the drill.
