To enhance strength, improving GB stability is a consideration. However, this often requires a significant amount of alloying elements, posing resource challenges. Additionally, practical fabrication of extremely fine grains is still an issue. In our study, we firstly demonstrate a remarkable hardening-by-annealing phenomenon in magnesium (Mg) with relatively large grain sizes of 0.2-0.5 m, even with ultra-low yttrium (Y) addition. We reveal that annealing induces GB segregation/relaxation, effectively limiting the GB kinetics and promoting dislocation-dominated plasticity. Furthermore, the accompanying dislocation annihilation hinders deformation due to dislocation scarcity. As a result, we discovered extraordinary hardening in bulk ultrafine grained Mg-Y ultra-dilute alloy. This work offers a promising avenue for developing energy- and resource-efficient sustainable Mg alloys with superior mechanical properties.

m range. Further analysis reveals that the severe strain localization in the brittle SUS304 thin layers is delayed by the ductile Q235 layers, which is mainly attributed to the different texture evolution and dislocation configuration characteristics during tensile deformation.

The key motivation of the project has been to bring the advantages of the Best Estimate Plus Uncertainty approach to the field of Severe Accident. The applications brought together a large group of participants that set out to apply uncertainty analysis (UA) within their field of SA modelling expertise, in particular reactor types, but also SA code used (ASTEC, MELCOR, etc.), uncertainty quantification tools used (DAKOTA, RAVEN, etc.), detailed accident scenarios, and in some cases SAM actions. This paper synthesizes the reactor-application work at the end of the project. Analyses of 23 partners are sorted into different categories, depending on whether their main goal is/are (i) uncertainty bands of simulation results; (ii) the understanding of dominating uncertainties in specific sub-models of the SA code; (iii) improving the understanding of specific accident scenarios, with or without the application of SAM actions; or, (iv) a demonstration of the tools used and developed, and of the capability to carry out an uncertainty analysis in the presence of the challenges faced. The partners' experiences made during the project have been evaluated and are presented as good practice recommendations. The paper ends with conclusions on the level of readiness of UA in SA modelling, on the determination of governing uncertainties, and on the analysis of SAM actions.

. Static short-range order appeared in its Kagome lattice plane below Ca. 20 K from a pool of coexisting spin liquid, linearly increasing its fraction to 0.492(8), then all Kagome spins transitioned into a stable two-dimensional spin order at

$. The unconventional static nature of the short-range order was inferred to be due to a pinning effect by the strongly correlated coexisting spin liquids. This work presents a unique magnetic system to demonstrate a complete bond percolation process toward the critical transition. Meanwhile, the unconventionally developed magnetic order in this chemically clean system should shed new light on spin-liquid physics.

Traditional frequency-based risk importance measures (RIMs) have demonstrated its practicability in the nuclear regulation. The authors investigate the definitions of existing RIMs and associated applications in risk-informed nuclear regulations, for instance, the risk-informed categorization of structures, systems, and components (SSCs), risk-informed changes to technical specifications, etc. However, when evaluating mitigation effects of accident countermeasures, importance assessments involving consequence and timing has the potential of providing valuable information for decision making. By widely using numerical simulations of possible accident progressions, dynamic PRA enables a straightforward assessment of risk triplets. Recent advancements in the development of dynamic PRA tend to explicitly incorporate the dynamics of accident progression and failure events into risk assessment, and it allows a provision of more detailed risk information. The approach to appropriate estimation of risk importance within this framework has not been established, exposing a significant research challenge in the use of risk information for decision making in the nuclear industry. Possible accident sequences are sampled using RAPID by randomly branching, and risk triplets are quantified, including key quantities such as source term release amount and release timing to the environment, and the associated frequencies. Risk triplets are used to calculate the new RIMs to rank the importance of pivotal headings in the event tree model. As the exemplary results of the analysis, source term release amount and timing are largely influenced by the mode of containment failure and the termination timing of reactor coolant injection. As the conclusion, when issues such as timing or seriousness of consequence are important for judgement, dynamic PRA and the new RIMs is capable of supporting decision making by providing more detailed risk information.

Despite the advancements in dynamic probabilistic risk assessment (PRA) methods that account for the dynamics of event progression, establishing risk importance measures for these methods remains a significant research challenge. This study proposes novel risk importance measures from the perspective of the risk triplet: Timing-Based Worth (TBW) for the timing of scenario occurrence (scenario diversity), Frequency-Based Worth (FBW) for the frequency (probability) of scenarios, and Consequence-Based Worth (CBW) for the consequences of scenarios. To assess the effectiveness of these measures, a static PRA using the event tree method and a dynamic PRA using the continuous Markov chain Monte Carlo (CMMC) method are performed on a simplified reliability model. The results indicate that the proposed measures facilitate a comprehensive risk importance evaluation, incorporating resilience effects (the time margin) and consequence mitigation, alongside traditional frequency-based evaluations. This advancement is anticipated to improve the utilization of risk information derived from dynamic PRA.

遷移の混合を実現し、イソフタル酸(IPA)中で三重項状態の発光を7%から40%に高めることで、この課題に対処した。加圧処理したIPAでは、蛍光と燐光のハイブリッドに基づく優れた白色発光が得られ、フォトルミネッセンス量子収率は当初の19%(青色発光)から75%に増加した。その場での高圧IRスペクトル、X線回折、中性子回折から、圧力の上昇に伴い水素結合が連続的に強化されることが明らかになった。さらに、この強化された水素結合は、圧力処理後も常圧条件下まで保持され、バランスの取れた一重項/三重項励起子集団のための効率的な系間交差を目的としたIPAに与え、効率的な白色発光をもたらした。この研究は、有機低分子の三重項状態を明るくするルートを提案するだけでなく、一重項励起子と三重項励起子の比率を調節して、高性能の白色発光を構築するものである。

The relevance of the experimental data in relation to the physical phenomena of interest in the VVUQ process is crucial. Adequacy analysis of selected experimental databases addresses this problem. The outcomes of the analysis can be used to select a subset of relevant experimental data, to encourage designing new experiments or to drop some experiments from a database because of their substantial lack of adequacy. The development of a specific transparent and reproducible approach to analyze the relevance of experimental data for VVUQ still remains open and is the topic of this contribution. In this paper, the concept of adequacy initially introduced in the OECD/NEA SAPIUM (Systematic APproach for model Input Uncertainty quantification Methodology) activity is formalized. It is defined through two key properties, called representativeness and completeness, that allows considering the multifactorial dimension of the adequacy problem. A new systematic approach is then proposed to analyze the adequacy of a set of experimental databases. It relies on the introduction of two sets of criteria to characterize representativeness and completeness and on the use of multi-criteria decision analysis method to perform the analysis. Finally, the approach is applied in the framework of the new OECD/NEA ATRIUM activity which includes a set of practical IUQ exercises in thermal-hydraulics to test the SAPIUM guideline in determining input uncertainties and forward propagating them on an application case. It allows evaluating the adequacy of eight experimental databases coming from the Super Moby-dick, Sozzi-Sutherland and Marviken experiments and identifying the most adequate ones.

被引用回数:5 パーセンタイル:53.83(Engineering, Multidisciplinary)確率論的リスク評価(Probabilistic Risk Assessment: PRA)は、大規模かつ複雑なシステムのリスクを評価するために用いられる手法である。しかし、従来のイベントツリーやフォールトツリーを用いたPRAでは、原子力発電所の構造物、系統及び機器が損傷するタイミングを考慮することは困難である。そこで、この課題を解決するために、RAPID(Risk Assessment with Plant Interactive Dynamics)を用いて、熱水力解析と外部事象のシミュレーションを組み合わせた手法を提案した。加圧水型原子炉のタービン建屋内での内部溢水を表現するために、ベルヌーイの定理に基づいた溢水伝播モデルを適用した。加えて、溢水源の流量や緩和システムの故障基準などの不確実さを考慮した。シミュレーションでは、運転員がいくつか簡略化を行うことにより、運転員による溢水源の隔離操作と排水ポンプを用いた回復操作をモデル化した。その結果、隔離と排水を組み合わせることで、溢水発生時の条件付炉心損傷確率を約90%低減できることが示された。

One of the hallmarks of mWSMs is the emergence of large intrinsic anomalous Hall effect. On heating the mWSM above its Curie temperature, the magnetism vanishes while exchange-split Weyl point pairs collapse into doubly degenerate gapped Dirac states. Here, we reveal the attractive potential of these Dirac nodes in paramagnetic state for efficient spin current generation at room temperature via the spin Hall effect. The observed spin Hall and anomalous Hall conductivity maxima at different compositions reflect optimum Fermi-level positioning relative to the paramagnetic Dirac and magnetic Weyl states, suggesting the common origin and intercorrelation between the two Hall effects. Our findings highlight a strategy for the quest of spin Hall materials, guided by the abundant experimental anomalous Hall-effect data of ferromagnets in the literature.

2} extension twinning which governed the macroscopic yielding led to the slight increase in yield stress. At 21K, basal slip was suppressed, while the extension twinning was promoted resulted in higher twin volume fraction. In the late stage of deformation, the {10
1}-{10
2} double twinning was suppressed, which is considered to be the reason to delay the fracture at 21 K.
