It passed fifteen years from February 1986, hot operation had been started at Solvent Waste Treatment Demonstration Facility (ST). It has come when it has been necessary to inspect equipments, because they are old. The evaporator of phosphoric waste is the severest equipment m ST, from the viewpoint of corrosion. The condition is included phosphoric acid waste, and heated by steam for running. So, we chose the evaporator for inspection of inside. We had already inspected appearance of the evaporator as ISI (in service inspection), measuring thickness and the examination for seeking a crack by PT (Penetrate Testing) and supersonic waves had been carried out. We confirmed it had no damage. In this paper, we reported the special inspection. We inspected the heating Part inside of the evaporator of calandria tube in order to search any damage. The abstract is as follows. (1)In order to decide inspection technique, we put together actual result about specification and past inspection. We planed inspection of observation appearance and examination for seeking a crack on heating part by PT (Penetrate Testing). We designed inspectional device for the inside of an evaporator of calandria tube. (2)Designed inspectional device is able to inspect an appearance by CCD camera. If it is reconstructed partly, it will be able to do PT (Penetrate Testing). (3)We reconstructed the reserve nozzle with changing the closed plug to the flange in order to insert inspectional device to inspect inside of the evaporator of calandria tube (4)We inspected inside of the evaporator of calandria tube by this inspectional device, and confirmed it had no damage inside too. Moreover, we will reconstruct inspectional device, inspect for seeking a clack by PT (Penetrate Testing), and confirmation healthiness of heating point more quantitative.

Low-level radioactive liquid wastes generated in the PNC Tokai Reprocessing Plant are solidified in bitumen, and solvent wastes generated in the Plant are solidified in plastics. They have been stored in the storage facility. To make sure that the stored wastes and their packages are in good condition, we evaluated the fundamental characteristics, eg, hardness, compressive strength, penetration, water content for solidified wastes, and observation thickess for packages. As a result, the characteristics of the stored wastes have not changed since they were solidified.
