A improvement of JOYO simulator plant dynamic model

JOYO Simulator(FOSTER) has been operated for operational training. Also. it is necessary to utilize FOSTER for characteristics evaluation of various special operation. So, we studied to improve the reactor core model, main intermediate heat exchanger(IHX) model and main dump heat exchanger(DHX) model which were main plant dynamic model of FOSTER by multi-node and multi-channel modeling and evaluated the simulation ability. We evaluated the simulation ability of the JOYO natural circulation test(100MW transient test). In case of the short time simulation(300 seconds), the highest temperature of the core fuels in No.0 row was higher 14$$^{circ}$$C than the experimental data. In case of the long time simulation(1 hour), the simulation result corresponds to the experimental data. In relation to the other fuel outlet temperature, especially No.5 row fuel outlet temperature fitted the experimental data. So, we confirmed the modified plant dynamic model was good for plant simulator.

JOYO Simulator(FOSTER) has been operated for operational training and also evaluation of specific operation such as low coolant flow test. On the other hand, it is necessary to utilize FOSTER for characteristics evaluation of various special operation. In 1994, we carried out arrangement of remodeling items fbr MK-III plan and improvement of simulation performance. In this study, we designed program of dynamic model to realize simulator of MK-III plant with high accuracy. We designed program to improve precision of simulation of reactor core and heat balance. We designed software and hardware to improve a responsibility of nuclear instrumentation, and selected specification of hardware. For improvement of scheduling function and training of emergency procedure guidelines. We designed visual display investigated replacement of simulator computer system.

Study of improvement of simulation performance for JOYO simulator

JOYO simulator(FOSTER) has been operated for operational training and also evaluation of specific operation such as low coolant flow test. This study was carried out for arrangement of remodeling items for MK-III and for improvement of simulation performance. At first, in order to improve preciseness of simulation of normal operation and abnormal operation by FOSTER, we evaluated simulation results of FOSTER and FBR plant dynamic analysis code MIMIR-N2, selecting typical eight event. We confirmed that Foster has satisfactory simulation excepting behavior of natural circulation condition and low coolant low condition. Also, in order to improve simulation accuracy of control rod reactivity and response of NIS indication, we investigated details for improvement of soft-ware and hardware, and arranged remodeling items for MK-III. For strengthen supervisory function of plant condition, we designed monitoring display for non-measured parameter and emergency condition.

The automatic reactor operation syste for JOYO is evaluated. In JOYO, by realizing the automatic operation of control rod, the reduction of the operator's load will be performed, and by improving the man-machine interface, the operability will be also improved, Still, in order to improve the reliability and safety of operator, following items are evaluated. In these evaluations, two kinds of automatic reactor operation systems are considered, one is limited to a control rod operation and the other is to an overall plant operation with steam generators. (1)Configuration of the automatic control rod operation system and the automatic plant operation system. (2)Control algorithm by using the knowledge engineering. (3)Methods of the man-machine interface and the operation against emergency conditions. (4)Scope of modification of the present control rod drive system and central control panels. And, the problems which are necessary to be solved to implement this system, are evaluated. Basic configuration of the automatic control rods operation system and the automatic plant operation system are established, and it is ascertained that the present control rod drive system will be useful to the control rod position control to realize the automatic control rod operation without any modification of the control rod drive mechanism.

The CABRI "Depouillement" program is a computer program by which reduced to real physical unit are the sequential data on the magnetic tape which records sampled signals from CABRl testsection instrumentation. An upgrade was made to the previous Depouillement program so as to perform consistenly an on-line (conversational mode) data processing on a graphic display terminal (Tektronics 4014/4016), with respect to initial data reduction, graphic display, data editing, and furtherly the noise analyses such as correlation function, power spectral density, coherence function and frequency response. The upgraded "Depouillement" system consists of four modules:(1) Depouillement program, (2)Quick view program, (3)Data editing program (EDITOR), and (4) Noise analysis program package (NOIPAC). The present manual describes the function and usage of each module mentioned above, along with the information necessary for each module installation. The detail of the system installation tape is listed in Appendix.
