Vaporization behaviour of Pu-Cd intermetallic compounds

使用済燃料の乾式再処理工程には、Puを回収するためのCd蒸留プロセスがある。この蒸留プロセスのふるまいを理解するために、PuCd+PuCd及びPuCd+PuCdサンプルを調製しクヌーセンセルとを組合せた質量分析計を用いてこれら金属間化合物上のCd(g)の蒸気圧測定を行った。また、得られた平衡蒸気圧からPuCd及びPuCdの熱力学的諸量を評価した。

A pyrochemical process for the metallurgical treatment of the spent nuclear fuels contains the Cd-distillation step, where Pu is recovered as a residue. For understanding this Cd-ditillation behavior the samples of PuCd+PuCd and PuCd+PuCd were prepared and Knudsen-cell mass-spectrometric measurements were carried out to determine the vapour pressures of Cd(g) over these samples. Further,the thermodynamic quantities of PuCd and PuCd were evaluated from these vapour pressures.
