本ワークショップは文部科学省及びマレーシア科学・技術・革新省の後援のもと、日本原子力研究開発機構及びマレーシア原子力庁の共同で開催された。本ワークショップの目的は、FNCA参加各国の天然高分子の放射線加工の実用化状態を議論し、今後のプロジェクトの計画を策定することであった。会議には、中国, インドネシア, 日本, 韓国, マレーシア, フィリピン, タイ及びベトナムの放射線加工の専門家が参加し、上級管理者セミナー, 展示会, 講議, 参加国報告, 工場視察及び議論を行った。また、実用化製品のデータ編集、実用化支援のための専門家派遣及びエンドユーザーが容易に利用できるガイドラインの作成などが策定された。次期FNCA会合は、2007年10月のベトナム、ホーチミン市で開催される。

This workshop was co-sponsored by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Japan and the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, Malaysia and jointly organized by the Japan Atomic Energy Agency and the Malaysian Nuclear Agency. The main objectives of the workshop were to discuss the commercial status of radiation processing of natural polymer in the participating countries and to prepare the work plan for the FNCA activities on radiation processing of natural polymer. Experts on radiation processing from China, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam attended the workshop that consisted of a National Executive Management Seminar, exhibition, invited lectures, country reports, technical visit and discussion. The work plan for the FNCA activities was provided including the collection and compilation of data on the commercialized products, expert mission to assist FNCA member countries and preparation of FNCA Guidelines for the end-users. The FNCA 2007 workshop on EB will be held in Vietnam.
