磁気構造の情報は基本的に伝統的な中性子回折を用いた単結晶磁気構造解析を実施すれば明らかになるが、その構造の温度変化や詳しいスピン方向の情報を得るためには3次元中性子偏極解析実験が非常に効率的で、かつ決定的な検証方法である。日本原子力研究開発機構ではフランスの研究グループとの共同研究開発でJRR-3の三軸分光器TAS-1にCRYOPADを用いた3次元中性子偏極解析オプションを導入した。最近のマルチフェロイック系REMn$$_{2}$$O$$_{5}$$や遍歴反強磁性物質CrB$$_{2}$$におけるカイラリティやヘリカル磁性の検証実験を紹介する。

Recent active investigations of spin-frustrated and multiferroic systems suggest that the appearance of non-collinear magnetic ground states is strongly correlated with their interesting novel physical properties. The detailed information on spin moment direction or its temperature dependence of complicated non-collinear magnetic structure, can be very effectively obtained by means of polarized neutron technique. JAEA, in collaboration with ILL and CENG, has been installing the 3-dimensional polarization analysis equipment, CRYOPAD, on TAS-1 at JRR-3. We report some recent results on non-collinear magnetic ground states in the multiferroic system ErMn$$_{2}$$O$$_{5}$$ and the itinerant antiferromagnetic system CrB$$_{2}$$.
