本研究は、電磁超音波探触子(EMAT)を用いたオンライン配管モニタリング用の欠陥検出センサの研究である。これまでの研究では、欠陥検出には、接触媒質が不要だが機械的走査が必要であった。本研究では、2つのセパレートコイルを使うことで、機械走査なく欠陥検出可能としたものである。

In the paper it was also investigated the defect detection using the electromagnetic acoustic transducer (EMAT). However, EMAT needs a different processing of defect detection signal. Until now, it was studied a small one EMAT unit that has a non-couplant characteristic and uses additionally mechanical scanning to detect defects. In the present paper it is investigated one EMAT unit with two separate coils for transducer and receiver, that can monitor for defects without any mechanical scanning.
